Last Monday night, I attended the monthly AJS & Matchless Owners Club Fenrunners section meeting and among the various things discussed and announced was the “Clubman of the Year 2008″ award (shown to the right).
Just so you are aware, this award is exclusive to the Fenrunners section of the owners club, and although I’m sure [...]
Well, another good weekend has been had, I’m sure you’ll be glad to know!
Sunday 9th November over here in the UK was Remembrance Day where we pay tribute to, and remember, the fallen of two world wars and other conflicts and this year it was also to mark the 90th anniversary of the [...]
I’ve not written much recently, mainly because not much has happened! Today, however, stuff did happen, so here I am!
As you may know from my blog entry on 23 September 2008 entitled An enjoyable pair of weekends!, at the Matchless‘ MOT at the beginning of July this year (3.5 months ago), the odometer on the [...]
The good weekend I’m referring to this time is more like “Saturday” actually, as on the Sunday, I did next to nothing! On Saturday, however, I visited the Great Chesterford Steam-Up and had another relaxing but fun day!

I’ve not posted for a couple of weeks, mainly due to lack of time, but nevertheless, here I am again to report on a pair of very enjoyable weekends!
First of all though, I would like to state something that surprised me yesterday… the lead up is as follows; my Grandad, when he owned the Matchless, [...]
We had two events planned for this weekend - Haddenham Steam Rally on Saturday (which I wasn’t taking the Matchless to) and the 3rd Legion Bike Show on Sunday (which I was taking the Matchless to). Both events took place and we attended both of them. However, neither day ended up being quite as we [...]
There were two events this weekend - my Birthday on Saturday and the AJS & Matchless Owners Club Fenrunners 2008 Motorbike run on Sunday (today), and fortunately, both have been a complete success!
My birthday on Saturday was a quiet day… but I received gifts that I like (mostly from my Wishlist!) and generally had a very [...]
I’ve fixed the brake light now; it was a cut or pinched cable that goes from the switch to the negative terminal on the battery. I blame the chain for hitting it (its previous route up to the battery practically touched the chain, it turns out!).
The tail light isn’t fixed yet, but that’s going to [...]
Things do seem to be running OK on the motorbike at the moment, touch-wood!
After making our way to the Thurlow & Haverhill Steam and Country Show by car due to the rain, we ended up still having a great day! When I’m not taking the bike, I am taking the tripod, so some photos of the [...]
Well, after taking the cylinder head off twice, replacing the exhaust valve and valve guide, and by correcting the badly-cut valve seat and face, the bike does now appear to be working… touch-wood!
I managed 50 miles or so yesterday - 20 miles to work in the morning, 20 miles to my parents house in the [...]
